Here’s a breakdown of exactly what goes into the construction of a paver patio, a “behind the scenes” look. First, we lay out the project right in the yard using marking paint and flags. Second, is excavation (including an over dig) to make sure the solid base extends beyond the pavers for strength. Third, we begin compacting the soil and base material under the pavers in strong layers. Fourth, is a perfectly smooth thin layer of bedding sand. Fifth, we lay down the pavers. We work with our customers to choose the style options including color, pattern, and border options. Lastly, we vibrate polymeric sand into the paver joints and seat the pavers with a plate compactor.
